Needle Felted Hare Sculpture
I hope you are all well and have had a lovely Festive break. I realise I’m a bit late back from all of that but thankfully after 2.5 years I got to see my daughter, her fiancé and my now 17 month old granddaughter Ellie, whom I’d never met until Boxing Day when I collected them from the airport after a long flight (yes they flew on Christmas Day) from Sydney.
New Heron Painting
Hello everyone, I hope you’re all well. I’m busy, busy at the moment and trying to get some new paintings done. Here’s my latest offering - quite different for me and lots of colours ! I think it’s may be one of those marmite pictures! New acrylic paints on wooden board.
Basketry Workshop at Biteabout Arts
Hello everyone, I hope you’re all well and that those of you disrupted by the storm last week, are okay. I have to say that there was a fair bit of damage here. All the ridge tiles came off the conservatory / studio roof - thank goodness no one was in the garden when they landed - some were wedged into the grass at an angle 4 inches deep! chimney is ‘tilted’, drainpipes gone, some slates off roof, biggest tree down , electric cable yanked off side of house, main electric cable brought down by tree etc. you get the gist…..
Hare today, hare tomorrow
Hello everybody, I hope you’re all well. So, remember the little A4 watercolour Hare I painted last week, well that one has gone so I decided to paint another one ! This one is larger ‘A3’ and although I used the same reference photo it is very different in ‘feel’ well to me at least ! It has quite a graphical style with lots of black and some outlining and also has some gold metallic highlights - which I love to use - every now and then !
Landscape Experiments
Hello everyone ! I hope you’re all well and enjoying this beautiful, bright, sunny day. So, you know I don’t do landscapes / seascapes etc…. Well, because I’ve never done them before, it’s making me feel as if I should ‘try’ them at least. Trouble is, when you’ve been used to doing (mainly) just portraits for a few years, then anything else doesn’t come easily / is frustrating and feels like rubbish…..
